Scottish Commando 999 Challenge

Sat 5th - Sun 6th
September, 2015

Achnacarry Castle,
Scotland

Here’s something to really give you a focus for 2015 – for your training and charity fund raising – might even be a new ‘holiday’ destination for you and your family!

A 2 day challenge… a 30 mile yomp over the Scottish hills and moor followed by a 90 mile cycle by road.

Starting on day 1 at our war time Commando training camp of Achnacarry Castle, taking in the Commando Memorial, Spean Bridge and following tracks and paths to finish near Rannoch Station in the heart of Scotland. On day 2 we start from Rannoch Station heading east via Pitlochry, over Moulin Moor to Forfar and on to the finish at Royal Marines Condor, near Arbroath.

Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th September, 2015 book a long weekend now!

Royal Marines London Speedmarch

8AM, Saturday 8th
November 2014

The Mall, London

The speedmarch was a 26.5 mile course through London while carrying kit and an SA80 assault rifle - combined weight more than 40lb (18kg). The target time was less than four hours and 19 minutes.

Last year, we departed from The Mall, down through Whitehall to Westminster, along the Thames, raising a glass of port at The Lord Mayor’s Show and back through the City and the West End to the finish.

Commando's took part by helping to raise £500 for their place.
